Rarity is not a blind roll. The eight species are ranked by how dangerous they were, and that ranking is also the game’s difficulty curve. T. rex is the rarest thing in the collection.

Jump the rocks, duck the pterosaurs, outrun the eruption. You keep going until your hearts run out, and it speeds up the longer you last. The further you get, the more dangerous the species you unlock.
